Resources
There are many dedicated and talented people and institutions working to bridge the divide separating science and society.
- Research SCIENTISTS advance science. But many of them are also educators and are eager to engage the lay public and to discuss their work.
- The science MEDIA has the tools to write, produce and distribute media and engagement curricula.
- Science EDUCATORS in traditional school settings teach science. In addition, there are also a variety of outreach programs and public institutions such as science museums, which engage the public in science education informally. We sometimes refer to these organizations as science ENGAGEMENT partners.
- Science communications SPONSORS have financial resources and support science communications the public would not otherwise afford.
Science Media and Engagement (SME) Strategies provides strategy and planning consulting services to organizations in each of these communities. We also build interdisciplinary teams seeking to collaborate across these boundaries, applying innovative technology and implementing entrepreneurial strategies to bridge the divide between science and the public.
